Understanding the situation

Trinity School in New York City was using a cumbersome, outdated, and manual accounting system that didn’t integrate well with other software, which was inefficient and time-consuming. Fear of having an obsolete product that would no longer be supported was a major motivation to move on.

Management was looking for a modern technology solution to automate their processes, provide detailed and flexible reporting, and integrate with other systems — especially accounts payable and expense reimbursement software.

Because Trinity’s CFO had a long-standing relationship with one of CLA’s education industry leaders, they reached out to see how CLA could help with their transition to Sage Intacct, a flexible cloud-based accounting software designed to streamline financial management and automate processes for growing organizations.

Exploring the challenge

CLA’s implementation team conducted detailed discussions with Trinity School to identify specific reporting requirements and structural needs. Using that information, the team provided an efficient Sage Intacct transition plan.

The process included initial training on Sage Intacct, followed by workshops and user acceptance testing to align the system with Trinity School’s requirements. Weekly meetings helped the team troubleshoot issues, provide ongoing support, and refine and deliver a solution that truly addressed the school’s challenges.

CLA implemented automated workflows and integrations with other systems like Bill and Ramp for accounts payable and credit cards, respectively. The team improved reporting capabilities by setting up dimensions for tracking restricted funds and providing detailed reports and analytics by school, program, and grant, allowing Trinity School to gain better insights into its financial data.

Achieving results

CLA’s Sage Intacct implementation provided a modern and efficient financial management system with automated workflows, flexible reporting, analytics capabilities, and streamlined processes — all tailored to Trinity School’s needs.

Sage Intacct can easily scale to accommodate increased transaction volumes, additional users, and more complex financial processes. The new system reduced the time spent on manual tasks and month-end close processes, enhanced efficiency and data synchronization, and allowed the school to focus more on strategic analysis and growth.

Transitioning to Sage Intacct improved our financial management and reporting while reducing manual tasks. The integration with other systems created efficiencies we hadn’t thought possible. We’re thrilled with the results and CLA’s ongoing support.
